Subscribing to the Calendar

We try to categorize our calendar and offer different options to subscribers based on their preferences or levels of involvement. For example, someone who may not attend meetings, but may still like to attend a community event, can subscribe to the “In the Community” calendar.

Our calendar is a little finicky, but if you follow a few steps, you can easily sync our events with almost any other device.

  1. Locate the “Categories” folder just above the calendar
  2. Select the category you wish to sync with your device
  3. Locate the button “subscribe to filtered calendar”
  4. Click the calendar program you would like to sync with

Note: If you skip these steps and click the “subscribe” button without selecting a category, your calendar may not differentiate the different groups and colors for events that you see here on our website.

One last note: If you wish to see all of our events, be sure that the category filter is cleared so nothing is hidden from view.

Ag and Rural Caucus @ Pasco City Council Chambers
Sep 10 @ 10:00 am

The U.S. House Natural Resources Committee is holding a field hearing in Pasco on Monday, 10 September to focus on the economic benefits of the Snake and Columbia River dams.

Dan Newhouse requested the hearing and promotional materials signal that it is intended to be a cheerleading exercise.

What we need is a convergence on common definitions and agreed-upon data with respect to the performance of the Lower Snake River Dams.  You may support current operation of the dams, or you may think the dams should be breached. Either way you should be invested in solid analysis of the contributions as well as the shortcomings of the dams.

The field hearing will attract both supporters and detractors. It will be a good opportunity to tune your ear to the terms of the debate and become a better consumer of the arguments from each side.

Meet the Candidate: Rebecca Francik @ El Corazon
Sep 11 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Partly fun, partly politics…partly personal, partly policy…We reprise our Meet the Candidate series for our two legislative district candidates, Rebecca Francik and Everett Maroon. Rebecca is our guest this month and next month is Everett.
Rebecca won the primary on the strength of her Franklin County margin. The general election rides on what happens to the Mildon vote and how well we are able to maximize Rebecca’s vote in all counties.
County Rebecca Francik Dan Mildon Skyler Rude Total % Francik
Benton 2,411 3,084 1,946 7,441 0.324
Columbia 412 323 862 1,597 0.258
Franklin 1,398 769 444 2,611 0.535
Walla Walla 5,966 2,605 6,593 15,164 0.393
Total 10,187 6,781 9,845 26,813 0.380
Per cent total 0.380 0.253 0.367

If you do not know Rebecca, come and meet her in a safe venue. If you already know Rebecca, come and give support, and bring a friend.
