About Teresa Purcell
Teresa returned to the rural community she was raised in to care for her parents 15 years ago. She has had a front-row seat to the economic decline, the harsh reality of generational poverty, and lack of access to health care, housing, and opportunity that so many rural places have experienced. She has seen and understands the Republican takeover. In addition, she brings 35 years of working in politics, ranging from managing Senator Patty Murray’s campaign in 1992 to advising Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s campaign in 2022. Teresa consulted with hundreds of issue and candidate campaigns, having worked in 38 States and specialized in working with rural and BIPOC communities.
Ms. Purcell brings deep expertise in communications, political strategy/campaigns, organizing, and technology. She also brings a wide-ranging network of relationships in political, donor, allied and rural communities across the country. She has built national initiatives that are centered in community in the past. In 2022, she served as the Senior Advisor for Rural Engagement at the DNC. (Read More)
